Chester District Local Plan
On the 12th May 2006 the Council resolved that this document should be adopted as the Chester District Local Plan.
Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004
Although the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 introduced a new planning system based on Local Development Frameworks, the Chester District Local Plan has been adopted since the commencement of the Act in September 2004.
Consequently the Act allows for the policies to be retained for 3 years since the date of the Local Plan adoption. Therefore the Chester District Local Plan policies can be saved until 12 May 2009.
The performance of policies will be monitored and requests can be made to the Government to save policies beyond the 3 year period. Such requests will be assessed against criteria set out in Planning Policy Statement 12: Local Development Frameworks.
