Status of SHLAA sites

The Council closed a last “call for sites” for the LDF/Local Plan process at the beginning of November 2011, and is in the process of analysing those submissions.

The purpose of the SHLAA process is to identify genuinely available sites that could be allocated for future development. However, not all sites submitted in this way will necessarily be allocated. All sites need to be assessed against a range of factors, including the overall strategy for the district, environmental and infrastructure constraints, and so on. These sites therefore have no planning status at the moment.

The sites shown on the web-site are there for information only and the City Council is not currently consulting on their suitability. These sites will be reported to Members in the new year, which will detail how they might be taken forward. However, it is likely that the most appropriate / suitable sites may be allocated in the next stage of the Plan at which time there will be public consultation.
