Back to Contents - Back to Introduction   FOREWORD     This Local Plan, comprising a Written Statement and Proposals Map, has been prepared by the Borough Council in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The Local Plan sets out planning policies and proposals for Amber Valley up to 2011 and is in general conformity with the Derby & Derbyshire Joint Structure Plan 2001, which sets out strategic planning policies up to 2011. As a key corporate document, the Local Plan has an important role to play in supporting the Strategic Objectives of the Borough Council, as well as in applying national, regional and strategic planning policies and guidance, at the local level. In preparing the Local Plan, the Borough Council has taken into account:- all of the representations received following public consultation on a First Deposit Plan published in 2001 and on a Revised Deposit Plan published in 2002 the recommendations made by the Inspector in his report into objections to the Local Plan, following a public local inquiry held in 2003-04 all of the representations received following public consultation on a number of Proposed Modifications to the Local Plan published in 2005 and Further Proposed Modifications published in 2006.   Councillor Stephen Hayes Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration   Carl Whysall Director of Borough Development     top
